We left Gretna, Nebraska by 9 am. Our travel was short (125 miles), arriving in
North Sioux City, South Dakota.
By 2 pm we visited the Sgt. Charles Floyd Museum. Sgt. Floyd was the only person on the Lewis
and Clark Expedition that died during the trip.
Early in the trip, in 1804, he died, possibly of appendicitis.

Moving along to the Interpretive Center, where we saw a
life-size statue of Lewis’ dog, Seaman.
This dog traveled well on the expedition.
