Day 23 - Travel Day to Havre, Montana (pronounced Have - er)

Ah, the wonders!!  I wonder were the campground is.  I wonder if we should have turned there.  I wonder what happened there.  I wonder if that was one of our stops.  I wonder if I should get fuel.  I wonder when the bumpy road will end.

The day started out with Phil realizing his truck had been attacked by masked aliens.  I snapped the picture at the height of his pique.

Evidence of alien attack!

Then I thought it snowed last night.  Oops, only the Cottonwoods shedding.

Once we got on the road all was well.    We almost had a Dinosaur attack,, but slipped by unharmed.

Close call with a dinosaur

We next encountered a sleeping Buffalo (Rock).  Sacred to the Indians and once on a hill side some distance away.  Why did they coop the poor guy up in this shed where you can't really get a good view of him.  Lots of prayer tributes left on the railings.

The best stop of the day, other than lunch, was the Blaine County Museum in Chinook.  Everything from dinosaur history to the defeat of Nez Perce Chief Joseph at Bear Paw.  Great audio-visual presentation on that saga.  Also, early plains history.  Sadly, I remember using many of the implements displayed there.

Final arrivals, no names mentioned, at the campground at 4:30.  Were they, as Fred insisted, lost?  Or just a grand outing on the way?
