Day 29 - Travel Day to Dillon, Montana

Let me see if I understand this trip.....we started out in North Carolina.. Crossed river after river....until we arrived in St. Charles....where we joined all these other nice people....just like Lewis and Clark did....then we left there chasing after every inch on the big MO river ....again just like Lewis and Clark.....and after many days .....not as many days as Lewis and Clark we arrived at this little pond in three forks Montana.....and there it is the headwaters of the Missouri River...so we decided to eat ...again…..

headwaters of the Missouri River
On the way to headwaters....we had
to stop for breakfast....ie sticky bun....
sticky bun...and more sticky bun

Happy to be here for sticky bun....
We wanted to take others picture
going in to bun place...not a chance
they just push by and went to get
their sticky bunsssssssss...

Took this guy from 1929 till now
to get to the sticky bun factory........

I wonder if Lewis and Clark
stopped at this same sticky
bun place.....and got the
same smile on their face......
Even all the little travelers
think about pot and a little luck

Pot luck .....appears in the 16 th
century England .....and was there
used to mean food provided for an
unexpected or uninvited guest .....the
lucky of the pot.....so today was lucky
of the pot.....Everyone cooked something
for the pot.......

Fred prays for a little pot and luck
.....as others wait with baited plates

Others wait.....when is Phil going to
say eat

We are next

What trip is he talking about in
this book......let’s eat

Whatever was in the pot is what I brought
Give me that wine

I know that Lewis and Clark
and the guys ate this way
No they did not eat this stuff they had
buffalo and deer and weeds and stuff ....
O well.....the wine makes it
bearable....what bear?
