Day 15 - Travel Day to Pierre, South Dakota

We all got up to a beautiful morning and commenced preparations for our departure to Pierre.

Lil Barrett getting ready to leave

Upon departure from the campground we encountered a blocked exit, but our trusty tail gunner gave us instructions as to how to maneuver around and a nice construction worker gave us directions to I-90 and moved some of the construction markers for us to get around.  We encountered many miles of road construction, but it did not dampen the beautiful scenery.  Our first stop was Akta Lakota Museum and Culture Center.  At the museum we took in a tour and were given an explanation of Indian customs and lore concerning the plains Indians.  No photos were allowed.

After lunch we proceeded West on Hwy 50 enduring construction detours but being Blessed by the beautiful scenery of the  Missouri River.

We all proceeded towards our destination to Downstream Campground & Marina.  There were some missed turns but all made it safely.

Nice park with good facilities and nice grounds. We all gathered for a trip to Cattleman’s Steakhouse for a great time of good food and fellowship.  Our evening ended with all home and tucked in bed awaiting our 8 a.m.  morning trip.
