We are starting another glorious day in “Big Sky”
Country.
Why they call it "Big Sky" |
We left the most weirdly configured RV park we have ever
been in.
RV Park |
We traveled a whopping 123 miles from Havre, Montana to
Great Falls, Montana.
Surprise!
Surprise! On the way out of town there
was a Wal-Mart which we actually passed up and did not go shopping.
During the trip we spotted eleven pronghorn between Havre
and Fort Benton.
Fort Benton |
The first highlight of the day was our stop at the “birthplace”
of Montana, which is Fort Benton.
Listening to the guide in the Trading Post |
The interpretive guide was in period dress and gave us a
comprehensive talk about the fort/trading post.
It was in existence in various capacities as a fur trading post and
military camp from 1846 until 1881.
In the evening some of us walked and some drove to the
Heritage Inn for a dinner. We dined on
Montana flat iron steak, or chicken with all the fixings and dessert.
RV-ing is a tough life, but someone has to do it.
