We started out with a prayer for the safety of our
Caravan friends and Sharon Frederick.
We saw Elk Point, the sight where the first black man and
the first woman were allowed to vote.
The vote was for a replacement for Sgt. Floyd, the only death on the
expedition.
We went to see the National Music Museum. The building was an endowment to the
University of South Dakota by Carnegie.
There was a statue of a man playing a violin. It could have been Jascha Heifetz, in bronze.

Later we passed by Lewis and Clark Boy Scout Camp. We didn’t go.
We passed through farmlands for many miles. When we got to Mitchell we decided to make a
left turn to go to Wal-Mart. When the
signal arrow turned green, John stepped
on the gas to turn………..nothing happened!
Shifted into other gears…….nothing.
So we sat and waited for AAA to tow us 45 minutes to an hour. But Phil, the Wagonmaster, arrived
first. We always like a grand
entrance.
